Soviet 3rd Ukrainian Front breaks through the defensive lines of German Army Group South - Sepp Dietrich disobeys Hitler and orders his 6th SS Panzer Army to withdraw rather than be encircled
All remaining U-boats in the Baltic are transferred to the west

The Soviet government informs Turkish diplomats that it will not renew the 1925 Turkish-Soviet Treaty of Neutrality and Non-Aggression, due to expire in November

Day one of the new dietary regime went well, so I can now quietly get on with it and shift focus to other matters. Today I have plenty of time and no excuse to get stuff done, see clients and maintain mind and body as well.

Only by overcoming life’s problems and obstacles can we become truly strong. If everything always goes smoothly, we will grow complacent and be unable to build a solid foundation for our lives. Only by experiencing suffering ourselves can we understand the suffering of others and deepen our compassion.
