3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION

I continue to learn about myself! A considerable handicap to this character is the way it reacts to the unwanted-unexpected. I'm quite capable of a measured response given space, but when suddenly confronted with rudeness, criticism, frustration or nuisance, my reactions are somewhat cranky! This is exacerbated by multiple frustrations or hunger.

This is not an easy one! The only way to prevent this would be for my consciousness to be so elevated and so detached from experience that nothing good or bad affected me at all. At that level of detachment, my mind would be pure awareness, virtually devoid of conscious thought.

Though my consciousness is elevated considerably above the average, it is not yet anywhere near that kind of stillness! If I want to achieve it, I will need to start investing serious daily energy into disciplines of concentration and giving daily meditation priority #1.

But here is the interesting irony - it is my very handicaps of negative experience and mental instability that are driving me inexorably to ever higher consciousness as the only way to escape the suffering.

7. NOW THAT'S FUNNY!

8. TRIVIA
Reyes syndrome is a rare and potentially fatal disorder linked to taking aspirin during viral illnesses such as the flu. Symptoms include persistent vomiting, fever, and confusion. Liver and brain damage occur within a few days. Many doctors advise against giving aspirin to children and young people for treating the symptoms of influenza-like symptoms. Dozens of cold and flu remedies contain aspirin.

9. ZEN WISDOM
Indifference and acquiescence in the face of the negative, destructive functions of life is, ultimately, to side with the forces of destruction.
