3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
Accursed Daughter has been upsetting Missus again! I deeply resent how this truly awful narcissistic woman continues to blight my life via her treatment of her mother. Missus to her credit responded by canceling a bonfire night meeting. Nevertheless I had a strong temptation to unleash some verbal in Daughter's direction. Training however kicked in and I concluded the benefit would be zero, so I remained silent.
The best way I can get at this vile being Daughter has turned out to be is to treat Missus right, so Missus can see the contrast. However my motive is not vindictiveness or revenge. I would be quite happy for Missus and Daughter to have a thriving relationship, but it isn't! Daughter keeps poisoning it with her narcissistic intolerance.
The current fall-out is not of course going to be permanent, but it's a golden opportunity to accentuate the difference between her treatment at home and that at the hands of Daughter. Unfortunately this is not a situation that is going to go away anytime soon, so I need to practise acceptance and protect Missus as best I can.
