3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATON
With myself having a rare free Saturday and Son out of the house, a wonderful "honeymoon slob day" was enjoyed by myself and Missus yesterday as we did little else but read papers, watch TV and have sex.

As thoroughly enjoyable as it was, it will be nice to return to more me time and be a little more productive today. I am well aware that what it took to get to this place of total joy, it takes to keep it. That simply means keeping attention on my intention. Everything flows from this simple but absolutely essential discipline.

My mind does not default to this mode, so continual effort is required to keep it in this positive place, in the same way keeping clean and smelling fresh requires regular effort.

Fortunately I'm now very used to doing it, and the benign circumstances of home life make it easier still. A healthy fear of the consequences of letting concentration slip from my intention keeps me in the groove.

It's also important to be aware of, though not focus on external threat. This is at present mainly in the form of Daughter and the way she treats Missus. Missus admittedly is astonishing in her ability to soak up the rudeness and disrespect inflicted on her, and my intervention is not generally required, but Daughter is more than capable of breaking even Missus tolerance. I therefore keep a watchful eye on their dysfunctional relationship, as well as any other threats, which are fortunately beyond the horizon at this time.

4. TODAY'S QUESTION FOR YOU
Are you vigilant for both opportunities and threats?

Weathertrack: ex-Hurricane Bertha will deepen rapidly as it tracks across southern England, and deeper still as it moves into the North Sea, causing a violent storm across Britain. It will then become static in the upper North Sea and remain strong.
Air Pressure: 999 millibars and falling

6. TODAY'S ONELINER
We had such fabulous sex that afterwards the neighbours had a cigarette :D

7. NOW THAT'S FUNNY!
Room 101: Brian Blessed does snooker commentary - very good!

8. TRIVIA
Some common surnames in the British Isles reflect the frequency of red hair there, including Flanary (“red eyebrow”), Reid (“red-haired, ruddy complexion”), and Flynn (“bright red”).

9. ZEN WISDOM
People who can admire true greatness are happy people. By opening wide the doors of our hearts we can broaden our own horizons and strengthen our belief in life. A breakdown in this capacity to praise and respect others can lead to inflexibility and self-righteousness.
