3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
Happiness and a worry-free life still involves effort! If you want to keep the peace of mind you have gained and continue to see your life experience unfold in a fulfilling way, you can't just drift along. Even if you have a powerful car, you still need to expewnd a certain amount of energy to keep it going in the right direction.

This necessary energy comes in the form of concentration. I have to expend energy to keep my attention on the things that empower my life. Without this effort my mind would drift into unhealthy places. Mental exercise it turns out is even more important than physical exercise in the practice of wellbeing.

So from now on, in every conscious oment, I will be expending mental effort, locking my mind onto the intention to keep hold of life's greatest prize: peace of mind.
