3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
As well as learning, I understand the importance of RE-learning things. With a stupid manager at the Weekend Job unleashing my hatred from the dark corner of my mind, it has been rampaging through my consciousness since the weekend, though fortunately not inflicted on loved ones.

One good thing about it is that it has forced me to rediscover disciplines neglected, in particular the Discipline of Submission. This discipline is the practice of calling on powers beyond the character you play, and being a tool rather than the craftsman, yielding not to any human authority but the "divine".

The characters we play are only brief shifting aspects of the universe as a whole. The universe works through you rather than vice-versa. Enlightenment in general is about shifting focus away from the characters we play to the greater perspective that everything is ultimately one. Raising awareness to the level of the universal requires the humility to be used rather than to wield.

After being lost to my own inner darkness for a while, I have rediscovered the Reiki principle of affirming your connection to the Universal. As I have started doing so, wrath has returned to its corner, and the relief is fabulous! I will endeavour to ensure I do not neglect this discipline in future.
