3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
Well I wasn't expecting that! I have been suspended on full pay from the Weekend Job over remarks I have made. I am now waiting on a decision from management on what they are going to do about it. I am not going to just roll over on what I perceive as an injustice, so I will spend some of the time at home preparing a defence, as the most likely outcome is a disciplinary meeting.

One positive from it is that I'm now very awake and shorn of any complacency. I have also learned a lesson - there can be serious negative consequences from speaking the full truth! Time will tell whether I am right in the belief that nevertheless everything will ultimately work out for the best.

The trouble is it will require a supreme mental effort to avoid being caught in a negative mental loop where I overthink and over-analyze the situation, and my resultant behaviour affects my loved ones at home. The fact that I am now so highly self-aware will hopefully help me to keep positive. And behave in a helpful manner. The bottom line is I just have to get on with it.

4. TODAY'S QUESTION FOR YOU
Are you responding in the most useful way to the situation you face.

5. TODAY'S WEATHER IN BRADFORD
Dry and cloudy in the morning.
Heavy rain will arrive by noon
In the evening the rain will break up into showers, some heavy, that will persist overnight.

6. TODAY'S ONELINER
You don’t know anything about pain until you’ve seen your own baby drowned in a tub… and you definitely don’t know anything about how to wash a baby.

7. NOW THAT'S FUNNY!
QI - Frank Skinner plays the banjolele

8. TRIVIA
Psychologists at the University of Pennsylvania studied data from over 10,000 speed daters and found that most people make a decision regarding a person’s attraction within three seconds of meeting.

9. ZEN WISDOM
There is no true joy in a life lived closed up in the little shell of the self. When you take one step to reach out to people, when you meet with others and share their thoughts and sufferings, infinite compassion and wisdom well up within your heart.
