3. TODAY'S  SELF-OBSERVATION
Christmas Day went OK, but it was not the laid-back perfection I expected. Missus, who ordered a large cooked breakfast, immediately threw it back up. A gentle lecture ensued about how now that we are older we can't do things like we used to and that whatever we think in our heads, our bodies can't meet the expectations.

I was particularly disappointed with Son's behaviour, who despite having the minimum of expectation placed upon him nevertheless chose to be highly intolerant of his mother's quirks. At least I have his ear, and after another gentle lecture in his direction he apologized to his mother.

Despite these unfortunate occurrences, Missus generally enjoyed her day up to departing for Daughter's. The Lads then enjoyed doing their own thing, reuniting in front of the telly for a couple of hours in the evening.

Today will be one of Lad's self-indulgence, and a good time should be had by all!

8. TRIVIA
As humans grow older, the lens in the eye grows thicker. This is why people who once had perfect vision often need glasses in their 40s.

9. ZEN WISDOM
“Thank you” is the essence of nonviolence. It contains respect for the other person, humility and a profound affirmation of life.
