3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
A somewhat fragmented yet fulfilling day yesterday, indulging myself, spending quality time with Son and Missus, and making some headway on Son's band website.

My experience and observation of others have caused me to reject utterly the Work Ethic - this philosophy asserts that when you're not at work you should be doing your house or garden up. I have observed those who pursue this philosophy and found them to be a bunch of miserable sods with empty meaningless lives that don't add up to much.

I am instead convinced of the philosophy as life as a mission to fulfil, which doesn't start and end with bricks and mortar. Yes my house and garden are consequently scruffy but my life and mind are not.

And after all, I know that life is only a temporary experience, to be participated in but not clung to, for it is not ultimately what we are. Through meditation and other practices, it's good to withdraw from the role and simply be that Universal Consciousness that everything ultimately is.
