3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
Now more than ever I am convinced that to enjoy a fulfilling life-experience boils down very simply to one single factor - concentration. Whatever the mind is focused upon will determine experience. That which has your attention determines your mood, therefore your behaviour and therefore the response from your environment and therefore your experience.

Of course, you inevitably experience a spectrum of moods, but the prime focus when you are at rest is the key one. I always have a choice of focus. I now have, for the majority of my time, a happy loving environment. Immediately beyond it however are plenty of hostile or joyless environments. I can focus on my successful relationships or on my failed relationships.

My focus, left to wander, tends to go looking for trouble! I have learned to spend mental effort to keep focus grounded, continually tugging its leash to bring it back to these key dimensions:
Right Here
Right Now
Making Positive Difference
Intention
Gratitude

By doing so I achieve life's ultimate prize: Peace Of Mind.

8. TRIVIA
The Richter Scale for measuring earthquakes is now no longer actually used by seismologists. Since 1979 it has been replaced by the Moment-Magnitude Scale, which is more reliable and accurate at longer distances from the epicentre. The figures produced are however quite similar - 7.2 on the Richter Scale is 7.5 on the Moment-Magnitude Scale.
