1. THIS DAY IN WORLD WAR 2 (27th March 1943)
In the Mediterranean...
British vessel City of Guildford sunk by U-593

British vessel Empire Rowan is heavily damaged by a Luftwaffe attack and beached.

In Tunisia...

In the Atlantic...

In Brazil...

In the Pacific...
Battle of the Komandorski Islands: USN Task Group 16.6 intercepts IJN force escorting transports to Kiska Island. In the subsequent exchange of gunfire, each force suffers severe damage to a heavy cruiser and lighter damage to other ships. In a tactical error, Admiral Hosogaya does not realize he outguns the American ships or that he has already severely damaged the Task Group. Fearing an air attack, he withdraws his own force. Though the battle is inconclusive, it is an American tactical victory as the Japanese no longer attempt to supply Kiska by surface ship, which now has to rely on meagre supplies from sunmarines.

In Burma...
In the Arakan, Japanese Tanahashi Column attacks around Atet Nanra cuts off Indian 47th Infantry Brigade.
A Japanese Burma Area Army HQ is created along with the 15th Army and independent 55th Infantry Division.

Molucca Islands by US 5th Air Force
Cox's Bazaar, India by Japanese aircraft (9 bombers shot down)

3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
I am enjoying a quiet uneventful period simply fulfilling my purpose. Whilst life with Son and Missus is blissful, my difficult relationship with Daughter is a fly in the ointment. However, a chance titbit of information coming to me indirectly has given me some new insight and fresh incentive to persevere, and at least keep channels open.

Whilst things are settled I will use the opportunity to focus on my purpose and intentions and elevate my consciousness.
