2. TODAY IN MY LIFE

3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
The cat situation is considerably improved. She responded almost immediately to her antibiotic and painkiller shots - looks like she had an internal abscess. Vet has prescribed a course of six more antibiotic shots. A bill of around £150 that we can't afford but we had no choice. Son's morale and missus wellbeing depends on the continued wellbeing of the cat, and in any case I could not with a clear conscience just let the cat suffer or die when there were other options.

By the end of yesterday evening, a considerably bad run of unplanned unwanted expenses, having to be the "strong one" and a disturbed sleep the previous night took their toll and I was somewhat grumpy by bedtime. After a good night's sleep this time, I am stronger this morning.

I have drawn the conclusion that your life experience depends greatly on the ability to wield concentration. Adversity can serve you by forcing you to focus. If your emotions are all over the place, it means that an event has disrupted your concentration. These events can vary from the short windy gust of minor setbacks to the tsunami of bereavement. To lead a fulfilling life, you must regain concentration after these events. There must be a return to life-purpose and the best step towards it in the current moment.

In my case, my purpose is to make a positive difference to those receptive, by the wielding of my abundance. This in any moment can mean a blessing opportunity or the need to defend myself against the unreceptive. Sometimes the blessing opportunity is to myself, meeting my own needs so that I am fit and strong enough help meet others.

4. TODAY'S QUESTION FOR YOU
Right now, do you understand your purpose, and are you fulfilling it?

8. TRIVIA
The Ancient Egyptians gave the planet Mars its first recorded name: Har dècher (“The red one”). The Babylonians called it Nergal (“Star of death”). The Greeks and Romans named the planet after their respective gods of war, Ares and Mars. The Hebrews called it Ma’adim, or “One who blushes.” Many ancient people believed the reddish color came from actual blood on the planet.
