2. TODAY IN MY LIFE

Wedding Anniversary today, (27th) and I've taken off this weekend's shifts at the Weekend Job. I'm taking thise morning very easy, and after seeing missus off to work (she doesn't get flexible holidays) I will be sleeping, meditating, and having me time, and using Reiki techniques to accelerate healing of my cough.

After lunch and a good soak in the tub, there will be a further meditation for preparing missus' 3-course anniversary supper. Missus time thereafter, aside from clearing the kitchen!

3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
It's rather astonishing how successful our marriage is when you consider that she is a Paranoid Schizophrenic. It is fortunately very well managed, so much so that she works full-time and is the chief breadwinner, allowing me to be carer and housekeeper and run my hypnotherapy practice around it.

Caring for missus, aside from the housekeeping, mainly involves managing her behaviour, preventing her developing unnecessary checking and safety routines, and from spending all our money on gifts and catalogue purchases. Occasionally it means representing her and stopping her freaking people out by sharing her deluded beliefs.

The odd thing is how happy we both are. Most of the time, home is paradise, and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Missus faithfully takes all her medication without any enforcement from me and worships me - and I rather like that! All our happiness is as a direct consequence of each other.

Of course, it took a while to get to this point. I had to come to full acceptance of missus' state of mind and learn to manage my own issues whilst at the same time bring up a daughter with all the worst manifestations that puberty can bring. There have been plenty of tears and heartbreak.

But with time, some peripheral help, an amazingly helpful Son who is a joy to be around, some financial good luck, since 2011 it's been mainly happiness all the way. I have a mental strength I couldn't have imagined in previous decades, internal peace and plenty of creature comforts to enjoy.

Good and bad, all things pass, but I will savour with relish all the happiness I am currently enjoying.
