2. TODAY IN MY LIFE
After yesterday ending up doing small necessary tasks, 50th birthday celebratory slobfest starts properly today! No plans for the next three days other than the odd bath and meditation to keep mind and body clean, and to see what delights Son and Missus bring me! I do intend to enjoy a rare opportunity to watch Soccer Saturday in full!

3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
Though I have much to be grateful about, with a good month for my business, I have in November also had bad outcomes in the wider world with FOUR different blokes, the most recent with an electrician yesterday. They have all been remarkably similar incidents in nature, boiling down to them all having issues and taking exception to me saying or doing something minor that has proved to be the last straw.

In previous times, such encounters singly would have ruined my week (actually the first one did take about a week to fully come to terms with), and though I have still not enjoyed it, I have become more emotionally robust and philosophical than in previous times. Being spiritual in outlook, if circumstances have brought me an unusually high number of blokes to annoy, I conclude that there is probably a lesson to be learned.

The most obvious learning point is that even a minor thing you say or do can be too much for some people. But I think the deeper point for me is that wrath attracts wrath from places you weren't expecting. I quite like the power-rush of anger and the way people back away from it, but wrath tends to be indiscriminate, disproportionate and blinding.

I have learned that fear is the root of all dark emotions, and they are all allieviated by knowing what to do. You can calmly handle any adversity if you know what to do. To stop these recent lessons spoiling my 50th birthday weekend, I know exactly what to do - a lesson I have learned from the principles of Reiki - be kind and compassionate to myself and all other beings.

I will be meditating on kindness in the next few days.
