1. THIS DAY IN WORLD WAR 2 (23rd NOVEMBER 1942)
On the Russian Front... Group Lascar, last operational unit of the Romanian 3rd Army, is destroyed in the Raspopinskaya pocket.
Spearheads of Soviet 65th Army and 51st Army meet near Kalach, encircling the German 6th Army and elements of the 4th Panzer Army in and around Stalingrad.
Air Marshal Herman Goering assures Hitler he can supply the Stalingrad pocket by air. Hitler orders the establishment of "Fortress Stalingrad" and for the pocket to be held at all costs until relieved. There is currently no significant force in reserve available to mount such a relief offensive.

2. TODAY IN MY LIFE
DAY ONE OF MY 50th BIRTHDAY LONG WEEKEND! Not a complete slob-out on the first day though. I have a business proposal to complete and I'm expecting an electrician to replace the bathroom cord switch in the afternoon. Nevertheless, I will very much enjoy a weekend away from the Weekend Job.

3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
Virile men have a "glow" in their scrotum, but because it's continually there from puberty, they don't notice it. It's only in middle-age as male potency declines that it becomes noticable by its' periods of absence. I can now distinguish between when it's there and when it isn't. Tadalafil artificially restores the glow for 2-3 days. Viagra incidentally, although more expensive, quicker to act and more intense, only works for 12 hours or so. This is why I prefer Tadalafil - you literally get more bang for your buck!

Because I have erectile dysfunction rather than impotency, the glow can be there without chemical assistance, particularly if I'm relaxed, wide awake, warm and comfortable and/or I receive a new erotic stimulus. If I had an extramarital relationship (not that I'm planning one!) I would probably be fine, at least at first - the thrill of "new flesh"!

When erections first started to become less than 24/7 reliable around 2008, it was for some time an embarrassing disappointment. I have come to accept it now. I am still able to meet missus' needs, and my mind is liberated to think about things other than the sexual to an extent it wasn't before.
